I was tipped off by Twitter user @OriShmori that there's a strong chance that Savage Blood is being duplicated ("duped") on several servers.

If this is true this could be very bad for anyone hoping to make gold selling Savage Blood or selling items made with Savage Blood.

This isn't the first time I've written on the topic of item duplication and its effects on the economy (see Strong Evidence of Rampant Item Duplication in WoW and Proof Of Jeweled Onyx Panther Duping And Its Effects On Pricing). My guess is that (sadly) this won't be the last. Read on for our evidence and the ability to check the data for yourself.

This wasn't an easy decision and we've been debating it ever since we played the WildStar beta a week ago but we've made the decision to switch Power Word: Gold from a blog, podcast, and livestream about making gold in World of Warcraft to exclusively covering the WildStar economy.

We know this is a radical shift in the direction of Power Word: Gold but we think that WildStar is the first game in the 8 years we've been creating, playing and covering MMOs that has a real chance of being comparable to, if not more popular than, World of Warcraft and its economy. Just a quick note to let everyone know that the moderators of /r/wow have asked Faid, PhatLewtsGold and myself to answer gold-making questions in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) in the /r/wow subreddit tonight at 6PM EDT (UTC - 4 hours). That is roughly 3 hours from the time of this post.

Read the announcement post to find out more about it, keep your eyes open for the AMA post at 6pm in /r/wow and come ask all of your own gold-making questions. I'm not sure how long we will answer questions but if I know the others it will likely be a decent amount of time.

In preparation be sure to sign up for your own reddit account so you can ask questions and while your there subscribe to the /r/WoWGoldMaking subreddit (tonights AMA will happen in /r/wow just to be clear). To subscribe look for a green "subscribe" button on the left sidebar.

The Theramore scenario hits live realms today (already live in EU) and the scenario requires item level 353 to queue.

With sweet iLevel 384 heads and weapons being handed out like candy, I'm making sure that I'm crafting and/or flipping cheap iLevel 377 Vicious Embersilk and Vicious Fireweave PVP items. These are often items used by people looking to boost the item level of their characters in order to get into higher dungeons (and now scenarios).

If you have a Tailor you might look into this market and see if there are gaps and/or cheap (30-60g) items that can be flipped for a better price today. If you have a Jewelcrafter, Leatherworker or Blacksmith you might also look into the Vicious Jewelry, Leather, Mail and Plate items as well.

Here are the Auctionator searches I'm using to look for these items:

Vicious Fire

I'm selling most items for 650g each with the exception of wrists and belts which I sell for 450g.

Will they all sell? We'll see. If not I can always disenchant them for Heavenly Shards.

World of Warcraft Remote (iPhone).

Breaking news: Power Word: Gold reader Edladd just contacted us to let us now that they had discovered that there was a news update on their World of Warcraft Remote that stated that all the World of Warcraft Remote subscription features (remote auction house and guild chat) were now free to all World of Warcraft subscribers. It’s official: Mists of Pandaria is launching Sep 25, 2012. (Learn more about the launch, pre-sale,  "Digital Deluxe Edition" and more in this Blizzard blog post.)

Looks like I was a bit overly pessimistic in my guess of November as the launch date. Now we all get to do mental gymnastics to figure out how the launch will fit into our lives in September.

(It is interesting to note that September is very early in the year compared to the previous two expansion's release dates.)

How do you feel about the timing of the September 25 release date? Too soon? Not soon enough? (I especially want to hear your conspiracy theories!)

I got an email from Blizzard today notifying me that they are removing the X-53 Touring Rocket as a reward for the Recruit-a-Friend program. Read on past the jump for the new mount and more.

This has huge implications on the amount of materials that miners, herbalists and skinners will be bringing into the game and may have huge impact on those of us who were planning on farming to make gold at the beginning of Mists of Pandaria

With Blizzard announcing a new Scroll of Resurrection (SoR) promotion that gives people (nearly) free and instant level 80s there should be a small window of opportunity for us to sell these new level 80s level 77-80 Cataclysm greens. The default gear for the new level 80s is iLevel 232. Cataclysm greens start at iLevel 272 which is a big upgrade.

If the are being played by players like myself the first thing they are going to do is hit the AH and look for Cataclysm greens to replace much of their pre-made gear. Read on past the jump for a few quick tools to help in your search.

Below is a reader email we received outlining the changes they found on the PRT related to new quests for switching your alchemy specialization. While it looks like the travel involved in switching specializations has gone down the costs for changing have gone up by a significant amount. Read on after the jump for details.

Thanks to out twitter peep @GavinNeilGray for tipping us off that MMO Champion is reporting new information from the PTR about where the epic gem designs may come from in Patch 4.3. Regular epic cut designs will cost (5) Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Token (the current tokens received from doing Jewelcrafting dailies).

We also know more about the Tome of Burning Jewels. It will also be sold by the vendors and cost (4) Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Tokens. I will allow the discovery of a random epic gem pattern. Follow after the jump where I give my thoughts on the new info.

Blizzard announced today that they are going to be selling a pet for real money that can be traded (BOE). I just wanted to take a few minutes to comment on this latest offering from the Blizzard Store and what it may mean to the future of World of Warcraft. Read on for more.

It's official (kind of): Epic gems in 4.3 will have a small chance to come from a "geode" individual players will get each time they kill a 4.3 raid boss. This means that (at least initially) there will be no way for gold-makers to "farm" or produce epic gems (unless they are raiders). Chances for epic gems to drop from "geodes" rare enough that it may take all of patch 4.3 to replace a single player's gems with epic red gems.
