WoW Gold-Making Changes In Patch 4.3 Megapost
Another patch day means another Power Word: Gold Patch Megapost. Whether you live in the EU or are stuck at work strap in and get your F5 keys ready. I've been sufficiently caffeinated and have appropriate patching/posting music. My ear's to the ground via twitter and a fire hose of RSS feeds. It's business time!
(If you want to chat with those who are poking the patch with a stick right now The Consortium's IRC chat is a great place to start.)
I'll be updating this post live as information comes in. As with any megapost the information will be posted as I find it and will likely not be the "prettiest" post you've ever seen. Enough jabber-jawing! Hop past the jump and let's get this show on the road!

Good Morning! (Or Could It Be Evening?)
Today's guest post was written by Alyzande from The Gold Queen. Today's Power Word: Gold post can be found over on Epidermuss' blog Wragstoriches.
Timing is everything. It has always been the key between making lots of gold and making LOTS of gold. Know when to buy and when to sell.
Buy your raw materials at the weekend. Raw materials are those that come from the wild, plucked from the ground or monster corpses. I'm talking about all the ores, herbs, and cloth types. It is no secret that player numbers increase at the weekends and with more players comes higher supply and thus lower prices. To cut a long story short buying your ore and herbs at the weekend can shave 20% off the normal prices.
Being a gold gamer though takes our focus to selling. Certain items sell at different times of the day and different times of the week (almost entirely) due to the numbers of target buyers online. Epic Bind of Equip (BOE) items change dramatically. Last weekend my Treads of the Craft sold for 30,000 gold. During the weekday evening their prices are 21,000 gold buyout. They cost me 18,000 gold to make with leatherworking. I prefer the 12,000 gold profit to the 3,000 gold . I'm sure agree.
Raid times are early evening until midnight (a little longer for hardcore raiders). Between the hours of school finishing until raid starting players are eager to stock up with raid food and flasks and will pay extra to make sure they have exactly what they need.
After a raid players come jumping into the auction house full of glee with their new shiny items ready to enchant and gem them. Both enchants and gems sell nicely at other times but fly off the shelves as fast as you can restock after the raids finish.
The final interesting time I've noticed is that leveling gear (greens with good stats) sell quickly and steadily at a low price at the weekend in a market catering to casual gamers. In the weekday those stats must be absolutely perfect because your target market is the alts of more hardcore players who will pay extra for an item which will last longer.
Have you noticed a particular time when your items sell very well or considerably slower?

Dealing With Super Competitive Glyph Markets
Today's gold-making question comes from a reader who's just started on the road to glyph profit but ran into some pretty scary competition. The glyph market can be one of the most fiercely competitive markets in the whole game. Read on past the jump to to read their question and my answer.

New Auction Data Site AHSpy.com Launches (EU Soon*)
With the re-launch of The Undermine Journal earlier this year as well as the recent introduction of WoWTrader.org.uk the race to be the best auction house data site is heating up. Add AHSpy.com to this growing list of websites presenting searchable World of Warcraft auction house data on the web.
In its early beta stages AHSpy.com doesn't offer many options and doesn't (sadly) include any data for EU realms. (For updated info on EU realm availability see end of post.) I decided to to take a look at what they have to offer so far. Read my initial impressions after the jump.

Build Auction House Spies With Eternally Free "Starter Edition" Accounts
This is post is my entry into Cold's Gold Blogging Carnival for July, 2011: "Create Your Own Ideal Alt".
Blizzard recently changed the way their trial accounts work. Instead of being limited time accounts they are now eternally-free with not time limit. You never have to pay a cent. What Blizzard has now dubbed "World of Warcraft Starter Edition" includes the Vanilla and The Burning Crusade expansions.
While these free "Starter Editions" are eternally-free there are many restrictions on the account to prevent abuse. You can't use mail or chat in general chat. Can't be invited to a guild or trade with other players. You can reach a maximum level of 20 and you can't purchase or sell items on the auction house.
One thing these accounts can do is search the auction house. Follow me after the jump when I'll teach you how to use these completely free accounts to build your own auction house spies.

Two Ways Auctionator Has Changed How I Make Gold
As gold-makers we have lots and lots of tools available to help us improve our efficiency. We have addons to help us craft. Addons to help us put up auctions. Addons to help us cancel auctions. The list goes on and on.
These auctioning addons hold great power but also often come with steep learning curves. Add the fact that they are always in a state of constant updating and it can be a lot to learn (and try to remember).
Luckily for us we have gold bloggers to us learn. Two recent video from Gimp's Golden Adventure (See "Gimps Golden...Addons! #1 Addon Overview") and Nerf Faids (See "WoW Gold Rush - Blacksmithing") helped me learn an all-new (and better) ways to do my auctions. Find out what I learned (including a how-to video) after the jump.

Setting Up TradeSkillMaster Groups - A Beginner's Guide Video
A very common question I get asked is "How do I set up auctioning groups in TradeSkillMaster." TradeSkillMaster (or TSM) is a very powerful addon but it can be intimidating at first.
I made this video as a step-by-step guide to setting up auctioning groups for those players new to the addon. I hope it will answer many of those questions and allow players to get up and running with TradeSkillMaster quickly.
If there is a topic you would like to see covered in a future video let me know in the comments.

Auction House Basics: Auctionator Shopping Lists
Today I wanted to go over the basics of setting up "Shopping Lists" in the Auctionator addon. Shopping lists are a great way to keep an eye on items and markets that are important to your gold-making efforts.
I use Auctionator Shopping Lists multiple times a day to check my most important markets. I'm including some of my own favorite shopping lists after the jump to get you started.
